Martial Art – Nunchaku

Originally known as Nng Chat Kun (兩節棍) in chinese. Nunchaku is widely used in both chinese and japanese martial arts as a flail weapon.

The origin of the Nunchaku is unclear, some masters said it was originally used by okinawan farmers as a flail, some masters said it was brought by chinese martial artists into Japan. Another weapon from Philippine called Tabak Toyok also constructed very similarly, suggesting that it and japanese Nunchaku are descended from the same older chinese Nng Chat Kun weapon.

Like Kenjutsu / Kendo / Sport Chanbara, there have been various international sport associations that organize the use of nunchaku as a fighting sport nowadays.
